Roers Development breaks ground in Minot on 363 apartment units, 2 Hotels and 180,000 square foot retail center.
A 109-million-dollar development on Minot's southwest edge was officially unveiled today.
Southgate Crossing will be a collection of retail stores including CashWise Foods, Gordmans, and Petco, plus a Hilton Garden Inn Hotel, a second hotel, and an apartment complex.
The governor and two of the state's three-person congressional delegation helped break ground for the project located near the YMCA on 31st Avenue Southwest.
The development is owned by Roers - a Fargo-based company with developments across the state.
There is 37 million dollars of retail space included in the project - and the man in charge of leasing that space says it's amazing how well the development has been received.
(Joe Ryan, Southgate Crossing) "This project will break ground and we'll be about 97% leased and that's generally unheard of in this business. It speaks well of what's going on in western North Dakota and in this community."
The entire Southgate Crossing project covers about 50 acres of land on the west side of 31st Avenue Southwest in Minot. It is designed to provide 363 apartment units as part of the development.
