Dickinson and other western North Dakota cities are confronted with numerous challenges related to the oil boom. Housing shortages, traffic management, labor shortages, and constructing and financing of city-related infrastructure are foremost among our challenges.
Jim Roers has played a significant role in helping Dickinson deal with its housing shortage. He has mobilized his company to provide a substantial amount of much-needed housing for our community. I have been impressed with his professionalism, his ability to get things done and the quality of his work. In addition to housing, he is now developing a major Dickinson retail center. While doing all this, he has developed an in-depth knowledge of the challenges western communities face due to rapid oil development.
This makes him one of the few North Dakota senators who has experienced first-hand the major water issues facing eastern North Dakota and the major oil impact issues facing western North Dakota.
Roers brings a balanced common sense perspective to the North Dakota Senate. He will do a great job not only for Fargo, but all of North Dakota.
