Roers Employee Recognition Program is designed to help us recognize the contributions of the wonderfully talented individuals working to help us build success and who truly live our core values. Our employees help define success. Each year we are honored to recognize a few outstanding employees for their hard work whether it is in the field, office or within the community.

The employee recognition committee is made up of employees with representation from various departments and locations. The committee reviews the nominations, then after much consideration, selects the Annual Award recipients based on the criteria defined for each award.

Rookie

of the year
award

Awarded to an employee in their first two years with Roers for an outstanding effort to learn their job, provide premier serve to customers and team members, and exemplify excellence in their daily performance, all while incorporating the core values in their everyday work. This individual has grown to understand and live our mission, “through concept and completion, Roers is building success and stronger communities.”

Field

Building Success in the Field

Awarded to an employee or a team who work(s) in the field for Roers, through attitude, attendance, and work effort this individual or team exemplifies our mission “through concept and completion, Roers is building success and stronger communities.”

 

This individual or team provides quality of work, professional courtesy, premier service, “can-do” attitude, responsiveness, respect, develops and maintains partnerships, creates opportunities for the organization, is a team player and actively demonstrates our core values daily.

Office

Building Success in the Office

Awarded to an employee or a team who work(s) in one of the Roers offices, through attitude, attendance, and work effort this individual or team exemplifies our mission “through concept and completion, Roers is building success and stronger communities.”

 

This individual or team provides quality of work, professional courtesy, premier service, “can-do” attitude, responsiveness, respect, develops and maintains partnerships, creates opportunities for the organization, is a team player and actively demonstrates our core values daily.

Community

Service
award

Awarded to a Roers employee who freely gives of him/herself with he/she time and/or talent to benefit the community in which they live. This employee truly lives out the core value of Community: Give Back and Give Often.  He/she takes the time and effort to give back on his/her own time and is making an impact through his/her efforts all while supporting and representing Roers mission of “building success and stronger communities.”

Safety

Champion
award

Awarded to a Roers employee who exemplifies safety day in and day out. This employee goes above and beyond to work safely, following safety rules and regulations. By being a “safety champion” they help report near misses, attend trainings, and help advocate with peers the importance of safety.

2022 Award Recipients

Rookie

of the year award

Cody Curry

This new team member is described as resilient, driven, steady and realistic. 

 When he started, his first month was nothing of the norm. He earned the role of “controller” in a short time and had to self-learn the position without a predecessor to guide him. He took the opportunity of the new role in stride with confidence and positivity. He has stepped up to be a leader to the accounting team, communicated effectively and digs in to find out as much about the company as possible as well as helping out his team whenever he can. 

We look forward to him growing even more with our company in his future. 

Office

Building Success in the Office

Dave Reis

Self-sufficient, methodical, and patient best describe this Roers team member. 

 

His knowledge in the construction industry is second to none. He mentors team members from years of experience. He focuses on finding solutions rather than worrying about an issue at hand. He strives to build partnerships with all trades and owners to ensure the project is successful and the best quality. He focuses on what is best for the owner while assisting in choosing quality, reasonably prices products and works with the subcontractors to ensure all specs are followed to reach a successful project in the end.

Sean Meyer

This award recipient has the experience and is trusted to handle tasks with minimal supervision. If he doesn’t know how to do something, he is driven to lean and advance his abilities. His patience and respect has shined through as he worked side by side the Hispanic framers to help teach them.  

The opportunity for the operating the tower crane came along and he jumped at the chance and has excelled greatly. His ability to retain knowledge which is vital in production, safety and teaching opportunities on the job site, make him an essential member of our team.

Building Success in the Field

Jay Fearing

The second Success in the Field recipient is hard working, honest, selfless and respectful. Another Roers team member has the honor or not only working at the same company as him but also calling him “dad.”  

This team member takes advantage of every opportunity, is willing to dive into any job, leads morning stretches and uses his knowledge to strengthen our team. He has a great attitude and you know when he’s on the job it will get done. 

Community

Service award

Heidi Knutson

This award recipient is often referred to as passionate, creative, supportive, and bubbly. She plays a large role in ensuring that our team, regardless of where they are located within the state, has opportunities to get involved within their communities. She also regularly gives back to her home community of Hawley, but also to the larger Fargo/Moorhead area outside of her work with Roers. She is active in her church, mentors for Bio Girls, coaches youth softball and volleyball, and is regularly asked to speak on the behalf of others regarding community issues.  

She ensures that Roers is set up for success from every angle. Her expertise in marketing and communication serves Roers in a positive light, and she is always eager and open to new ideas and ways to improve her work and keep up employee involvement and morale.  

Safety Champion

Broc Beyers

Determined. He shows up early and leaves late. He takes on whatever is asked. These are all traits of this years Safety Champion. He treats team members with great respect. He’ll listen and even if he disagrees, he’ll let you tell your thoughts and then work together to compromise for the best solution. 

 

He has also grown to be a great teacher on the job site while showing those with less experience how to do specific tasks. Others do and should look to him as a mentor.  

 

Not only does he help drive safety at our job sites, his dedication to the job and his team is commendable.
